A RAW file holds the unprocessed data from your camera's sensor. It keeps more detail than a JPG, but most phones, websites and apps can't open it. Developing it into a JPG, PNG or WebP gives you a picture that opens anywhere.
Most cameras: Canon CR2 and CR3, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Adobe DNG, Olympus ORF, Panasonic RW2, Fujifilm RAF, Pentax PEF, Samsung SRW and many more. Very new camera models may not be supported yet; the page tells you when a file can't be opened.
Colours are converted to sRGB, with the white balance your camera chose and automatic brightness, which gives a natural-looking picture. It is a quick and faithful develop, not a replacement for a RAW editor with tone curves, noise reduction and lens corrections.
Yes. Full size gives every pixel of the picture. Half size makes a picture with half the width and height, which is much faster. A very large photo is developed at half size automatically when your browser would run out of memory, and the page says so.
Add the .psd or .psb file. The page saves the flattened picture stored in the file as PNG, which keeps transparency, or as JPG, where transparent areas become white. Layers are listed, not edited. A PSD saved without Maximize Compatibility in Photoshop may contain no flattened picture.
No. RAW and PSD files are read and converted on your own device and never leave it. They can be large, so the page works on one file at a time.
