How to use the ragdoll playground

Choose a scene

Start in the playground or pick stairs, trampolines, a see-saw launch, a pile-up, zero gravity or a windy day.

Play with the ragdolls

Drag any body part to pick a ragdoll up and let go to throw it. Add more ragdolls, balls, crates, ramps, trampolines and see-saws with the tools.

Export your clip

Open Video, choose the shape, length and sound, and export the last seconds of play as an MP4 to share.

Tips for great ragdoll clips

Slow it down

Switch to half or quarter speed just before a big landing. The video keeps the slow motion exactly as you saw it.

Follow the action

The follow camera keeps the busiest ragdoll in frame, which suits vertical 9:16 videos.

Floppy or stiff

Floppy joints give the silliest tumbles; stiff joints make ragdolls fall more like a plank.

Try zero gravity

Turn gravity off and bouncy mode on for a calm, floating clip that loops nicely.

Dress them up

Pick a look in Looks and press Dress everyone, or let every new ragdoll get random clothes and hats.

Replays are exact

Every drag and setting is remembered, so the export replays your session frame by frame at the chosen frame rate.

Ragdoll playground FAQ

What is a ragdoll physics sandbox?

A toy where cartoon figures are made of jointed body parts that flop and tumble realistically. This one runs in your browser: grab them, throw them, bounce them on trampolines and build your own course.

Is it free?

Yes. The ragdoll playground is free, needs no sign-up or download, and exported videos have no watermark.

How do I pick up and throw a ragdoll?

Choose the hand tool, press on a head, arm, leg or body and drag. Let go while moving to throw it. It works with a mouse, a touch screen or a pen.

What can I add to the scene?

Ragdolls, bouncy balls, crates, ramps, trampolines and see-saws. Ramps, trampolines and see-saws sit on the floor or the surface below where you tap. The eraser removes anything you added.

Can I change gravity and wind?

Yes. In World you can choose normal, moon or zero gravity, blow wind left or right, make everything bouncy and set the joints to floppy, relaxed or stiff.

How do I make a video?

Open the Video tab, pick 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9, a length of 10 to 60 seconds, 30 or 60 fps and sound, then press Export video. You get an MP4 file (WebM in browsers without MP4 encoding) to download and share.

Does the video include sound?

Yes, if you want it: bumps, boings, whooshes and pops synthesized from the actual collisions, plus an optional cheerful music loop. Untick both for a silent video.

Is the ragdoll playground suitable for kids?

Yes. The ragdolls are smiling cartoon characters that bounce and flop; there are no weapons, no blood and nothing gets hurt.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Drag with your finger, use the tool buttons and the panels below the playground. Exporting long 1080p clips is faster on a laptop or desktop.
