Is the background remover free?
Yes. Remove backgrounds from as many photos as you like, with no account, no watermark and full-resolution downloads.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The AI runs in your browser, so your photos never leave your device. The first time, your browser downloads the AI model (about 91 MB) once and keeps it for next time.
Can I put the subject on a white or colored background?
Yes. After the background is removed, choose None for a transparent PNG, White for marketplace listings, or any color. Changing it doesn’t need another run.
Can I remove backgrounds from several photos at once?
Yes. Add up to 30 images, remove all their backgrounds in one go, then download each one or all of them as a ZIP.
What size are the downloads?
The same size as your photo, up to 16 megapixels. Larger photos are scaled down to 16 megapixels so every browser can save them. Files can be up to 50 MB.
Can I change the background to something new?
Yes. After the cut-out, pick a studio color, a gradient, a scene such as a sunset, a beach or a wooden table, a blurred version of the original, or a picture of your own. Move, resize or flip the subject, choose a square, portrait or wide canvas, and download.
Can I blur the background instead?
Yes. Choose Blurred original and set the strength. The subject stays sharp while everything behind it softens, like a portrait-mode photo.
Do transparent PNGs work?
Yes. Pictures that are already cut out keep their own transparency and are ready for a new background straight away, with no AI step.
Why is it slow on my device?
The AI is fastest when your browser can use the graphics card, as in recent Chrome and Edge. Otherwise it runs on the processor, which can take up to a minute per photo.
How do I get cleaner edges on hair and fur?
